Contributory Aged Parent visas (subclasses 864 and 884)

Onshore contributory options for aged parents.

Overview

About this visa

The onshore contributory aged parent visas allow eligible aged parents who are already in the country to apply for permanent (864) or temporary (884) status without leaving.

They follow the contributory model, offering a faster pathway in return for a higher contribution, and are ideal for aged parents who are already onshore, often on another visa.

As with the offshore contributory visas, the Balance of Family test and an Assurance of Support apply, and we assess both up front.

This may suit you if

  • You are an aged parent already onshore
  • Your child is a settled sponsor
  • You pass the Balance of Family test
  • You can meet the contribution requirements

Frequently asked questions

What evidence do we need for a partner visa?
Partner cases are decided on the quality of your relationship evidence, usually grouped into financial, household, social and commitment aspects. We help you assemble consistent, genuine evidence and prepare clear relationship statements.
Who can sponsor a family member?
Sponsorship rules differ by visa, but sponsors are generally citizens or permanent residents who meet age, character and - for some visas - financial requirements. We confirm sponsor eligibility and any Assurance of Support before you apply.
How long will my application take?
Processing times vary by visa type and change regularly, and they depend on your documents and personal circumstances. We give you a realistic, up-to-date estimate for your situation and keep you informed while the case is assessed.
Can I include my family?
Many visas let you include a partner and dependent children, either together with your application or by adding them later. We confirm exactly who you can include and prepare their documents alongside yours.
Do I have to visit your office in Jalandhar?
No. We work with clients across India and around the world. Your case can be handled entirely by phone, email and video call if that is easier for you.
